Providing Quality Care During The COVID-19 Pandemic
To all of our patients, past, present, and future:
We’re facing an unprecedented health crisis unlike any the world has seen since the Spanish Flu of 1918. SARS-CoV-2 has swept across the globe in record time forcing people and businesses to take drastic measures to protect themselves from possible infection. As western medicine doctors and hospitals become overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, forcing others with less serious conditions to seek alternatives, I feel it is our duty to step up and provide as much support to the community as our clinic possibly can. This is why San Diego Sports Acupuncture will, for the time being, remain open for business.
We are taking this global pandemic very seriously and your health is our utmost concern, so we have taken extra precautions to protect your wellbeing. Cleanliness has always been our highest priority, but now more than ever we are doing our diligence to ensure the safest environment for treatments possible, including:
Washing and sanitizing our hands after contact with every single patient, without fail.
We ask if you have traveled overseas within the last 14 days or come in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient, to please stay home until the 14 day limit has been reached. The same goes for anyone experiencing any cold or flu symptoms at all, including: cough, shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, etc.
We have removed the sheets and table warmers from our tables. This is so that we can wipe down the table and headrest and all surfaces that the previous patient might have touched with hospital-grade disinfectant.
Each treatment room is being equipped with a UV-C HEPA air purifier. UV-C is a particular frequency of ultraviolet light that has been shown to kill all viruses, including coronavirus.
We have n95 (or better) face respirators at the clinic which will be used during all patient interactions to reduce possibility of cross-contamination, even from asymptomatic patients.
At our patient’s request we can wear disposable gloves during their treatment.
Finally, while social distancing is in effect we’re asking all patients to arrive on time and to either wait outside the office door until the practitioner can let you in and take you directly to the treatment room, or to text us from your car and let us know you have arrived so we can let you know that we are ready to let you in.
We have opted to offer an “Immune System Boost” treatment at the discounted price of $100 for new patients and $50 for existing patients who do not have acupuncture coverage through their insurance who still would like to receive the benefits of acupuncture. These treatments will run approximately 30 minutes and will not include the typical extensive physical exams we offer when treating injuries. We also have a limited supply of Cold Quell available for purchase for $25 each. The primary herb in Cold Quell is Ban Lan Gen, a potent antiviral herb that was used during the original SARS pandemic in the early 2000’s. This formula is meant to be taken prophylactically or at the earliest signs of onset of any viral infection, it is not only for confirmed COVID-19 patients with serious symptoms.
If we work together we can continue to deliver the high quality of care that you expect while minimizing any risk of infection. I’m including our cell phone numbers so that you may text us directly if you have chosen to wait in your car rather than waiting in the courtyard outside of our clinic or if you need to cancel your appointment for any reason at all:

We are here to support you during this difficult time. Let’s stay safe and responsible and together we will overcome this global pandemic.
